Meet Jenny
Jenny Stewart is a fifth-generation Fort Worth native, running for City Council in District 9 to bring her business experience, problem-solving mindset, and community dedication to local government. With a degree in Chemical Engineering from UT Austin, Jenny built a successful career working across the globe before returning to her roots in Fort Worth to be with her family. She soon launched her own State Farm agency, which she has run successfully for 20 years.
Jenny’s personal life has deepened her connection to Fort Worth’s diverse community. Her partner, Solaris Freire Cardero, a Cuban immigrant, brought his family to the U.S. after a challenging journey through the immigration system. Together, they are raising Solaris’s young son, Lian, and Jenny’s commitment to the Hispanic community has grown as she’s learned Spanish and connected with her neighbors.
Active in civic service, Jenny has held leadership roles in the Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Mountain Saginaw Rotary, and Fort Worth Junior Woman’s Club. Now, she’s focused on bringing her dedication and perspective to District 9, where she’ll prioritize constituent service and work toward a brighter future for Fort Worth.
Crime and Public Safety
Public safety is Jenny Stewart’s top priority. Fort Worth is seeing a troubling rise in crime, and District 9 is particularly affected, with the West 7th area posing a significant challenge. Jenny is committed to supporting the police and ensuring they have the resources needed to protect residents effectively. She believes it’s crucial to get ahead of these issues now, so Fort Worth remains a safe place to live, work, and enjoy life, avoiding the struggles faced by other large cities in the Metroplex.
Government Spending
Jenny believes that Fort Worth must prioritize fiscal responsibility and transparency. City government should focus on efficient spending that truly benefits residents and avoids unnecessary waste. As a business owner, Jenny knows the importance of making strategic, long-term financial decisions, and she is committed to ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely to create meaningful improvements across the city.
Planning and Development
With rapid growth in Fort Worth, Jenny emphasizes the need for proactive planning. She believes the city should establish a long-term plan that looks 30-50 years into the future to manage expansion thoughtfully and sustainably. Currently, development decisions are too often driven by individual land sales rather than an overarching vision, which can create infrastructure and transportation issues for new neighborhoods. Jenny aims to bring a cohesive, strategic approach to planning that ensures Fort Worth grows in a way that benefits both current and future residents.
Restoring Servant Leadership
Jenny Stewart will restore the spirit of servant leadership to Fort Worth City Council. She is committed to representing District 9 with integrity, humility, and a focus on the needs of the community. Jenny understands that public office is a responsibility to serve others, not an opportunity for personal gain. She is dedicated to listening to residents, making thoughtful, transparent decisions, and putting the people of Fort Worth first. Jenny will build trust and accountability in our local government, ensuring that every decision reflects the best interests of the people she represents.
